Dutch 1980 PUNK ART ROCK. Music reminds a bit of early THE STRANGLERS. Don't know much about band, only that one of the members was P. De Leeuwe from BINTANGS. Single was produced by Boudewijn de Groot. I think this is GREYHOUND MANSFIELD's first and only single. Although record was released on Dutch CBS, it's rare and not easy to find!

Belgian 1982 POWERPOP PUNK ROCKABILLY. When you think that all obscure late 70s/early 80s PUNK POWERPOP bands are dug up till today - here is COLOGNE INTIME!!! Well, it's a bit tricky to define COLOGNE INTIME style. They were obviously inspired by 50s rock'n'roll/doo-wop and teen idol, but also 70s GLAM stuff, but their music is too trashy with too PUNKy vocal for ROCKABILLY band. Anyway, it's fast and catchy! Totally unknown band and extremely difficult to find!!! You can check out your already dusty Killed by Death, Bloodstains and other punk powerpop or maybe rockabilly comps, but I'm sure you won't find COLOGNE INTIME there!

Dutch 1971 GLAM ROCK. THE KILLER is solo project/pseudonym of Jan Rietman from Long Tall Ernie & The Shakers. He released two singles under this name, 'Pretty Woman' is the first one and 'Killer's Boogie' (more rock'n'roll/rockabilly) is his 2nd single. ROY ORBISON 'Pretty Woman' is really great GLAM ROCK POWERPOP with GLITTER effects! Also killer GLAM STOMPER on B-side!

ORANGE - I Got You You Got Me / Please Don't You Do It 7"

Dutch 1976 GLAM ROCK POWERPOP PROTO PUNK. If you miss orange on your TV watching Euro 2016 ((like many people here in The Netherlands), than you can always do the right thing - play ORANGE on your record player :) Further, I really don't know anything about these guys. They realised one more, pretty good, single in the same year 'I'm Gonna Be A Star' with 'great fast and HEAVY 'Fever' cover on B-side. There is also one more ORANGE single, private release, from 1981, but I'm not sure it's the same band. Anyway, 'I Got You You Got Me' 45 is their rarest single.

He was helped by his former Fairport Convention bandmates Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson. Here we have collectors pearl, rare Dutch single on Vertigo swirl label, with unique picture sleeve.

Dutch 1973 GARAGE GLAM PUNK BLUES ROCK, or just shortly 70s ROCK :) Well, some 60s traces here, as 'Everything' is THEM 'I Can Only Give You Everything' cover, with FUZZ (of course). TIME BREAK SELECTION were from Eindhoven. They released 3 singles (no albums). 'Everything' is their 3rd and the last single. Other two singles are also recommended.

Belgian 1973 PSYCHEDELIC GLAM ROCK POWERPOP. LENNART, MESSAGIE & DAGLETH released 3 singles, before they formed HUSH - famous Belgian 70s GLAM ROCK attraction. LENNART, MESSAGIE & DAGLETH music was more Beatlesque, and a bit different from HUSH and their also catchy GLAM ROCK. 'Sleeping With My Dog' is LM&D's 1st single and has a bit weird lyrics, so you may doubt about their sexual orientation :) I prefer real cool 'Beautiful Friends' on the flip side. Rare 45 and more difficult to find than other two LM&D's 45s.

BIG WHEEL - World Outside / Please Excuse Me 7"

Dutch 1971 HEAVY GARAGE PSYCH HARD ROCK. Group founded by Hans van Hemmert (mostly know as producer of loads Nederbeat and GLAM bands) and Peter Vink (ex Q65). BIG WHEEL released five official 45s, NO albums - as far as I know. 'World Outside' is their 4th single and it's difficult to find. Don't know what happend and while the popularity of BIG WHEEL dropped after their 3rd single, but honestly, I never saw their 5th and the last single 'Groovy' for sale yet!

Also other label says: Side 2 Love Gun, but plays 'Then She Kissed Me' (NORMAL pressing says: Side 2 Then She Kissed Me and also plays 'Then She Kissed Me'). French Arab 1981 ART PUNK NEW WAVE GIRL. LITTLE RICHARD 'Lucille' cover is weird, specially DJEMILA's vocal. It's rock'n'roll played PUNKY, with cool ART PUNK NEW WAVE female vocal. But B-side, with EDITH PIAF 'L'Homme A La Moto' cover, is even better and more crazy!!! FUNKY WAH WAH guitar is mixed into ART PUNK NEW WAVE style. And DJEMILA is great, maybe her voice is not everybodys taste, but she has definitely unique style.

BENNY - Zufrieden Mit Mir / Du Hast Angst Vor Der Wahrheit 7"

BENNY was German 70s/early 80s Teen idol, with style mixing German schlagers with 70s pop rock, always sung in German. Some of his records are pretty cool, you guess well, the 45s with more GLAM ROCK than schlager sounds :) He also covered many British pop and rock hits with German lyrics. But here we have something a bit different and unusual, B-side of this 1978 single is SHAM 69 'If The Kids Are United' cover, sung in German!!! It really great loud PUNK GLAM ROCK stomper. BENNY's version has a bit weird more 70s dimension! Also A-side, 'Zufrieden Mit Mir' is good GLAM ROCK POWERPOP. Record is pretty rare and not easy to find, but it's not expensive, so if you like it, buy it before it become discovered and more wanted!

Dutch 70s FREAKY ART ROCK PROG PSYCH. Band was formed by Niko Christiansen - ex LIVIN' BLUES singer. Music style was kinda Dutch answer to FRANK ZAPPA and CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, but don't expect copycats, as HIMALAYA has their own 'weirdo' style. They released 3 45s in 1976. 'Do It Easy Way' is their first one. Both tracks are COOL, weird GROOVY BLUES ROCK, but, as I already wrote, with ART ROCK and PROGRESSIVE/PSYCHEDELIC filters!

Suriname 70s AFRO PSYCH REGGAE. Probably Dutch based Suriname guys. Don't know anything about them. Single is PRIVATE band's release! No label. 'X' (sung in English) is SOUL-ish AFRO REGGAE with nice melody line and cool PSYCHEDELIC guitar leads! 'Soema Na Joe' (sung in Sranantongo - I think) is more AFRO REGGAE PSYCHEDELIA, also with nice melody like and ACID FUZZ guitar leads! Great 45, unknown and almost imposible to find!

Today British 1973 weirdo 45 :) 'Ice Cream Man' is Beatlesque children song with PSYCHEDELIC spices. If you are into toytown marmalade skies pop psychedelia (popsike), I'm sure 'Ice Cream Man' has flavours for you. Personally I prefer the B-side 'Doctor Rock'. It's kinda PSYCHEDELIC GLAM FUNK.
